    Surveillance DVR Systems

A digital video recorder (DVR) is a device that records video to a disk drive or other memory medium within a device. It has become the main way security companies record their surveillance as it allows for longer recording times than the previously popular VCRs.

Surveillance DVRs record video signals from closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras for detection and documentation purposes. Many are designed to record audio as well. A DVR CCTV system allows for more control over quality and frame rate.

Some security systems allow for remote access and wireless connections. Multi-channel designs allow for simultaneous independent recording and playback from multiple locations. The most common numbers of input are 1, 2, 4, 16, and 32.

Hardware features for surveillance DVRs vary between manufacturers, including rack or desktop setups, connections to external storage, and alarms for internal and external detection. The creative design of this system makes it inconspicuous. Security software allows for selected capture rates, image resolution, motion detection, time and date stamping, among other features. Surveillance DVRs with closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras, remote access and wireless connections are a great way to stay on top of what is happening around you.
